With the Chainlink On-Chain Data Directory, we are increasing the decentralization of how people can access Chainlink Price Feeds in addition to our current resources. The On-Chain Data Directory also makes it easier for various smart contracts to securely consume various Chainlink Price Feeds, as all domain names are clearly stated with human-readable names relevant to the particular feed. This is the first time a tamper-proof on-chain directory of oracle networks has been created, and we believe that this will improve both the developer and user experience of both discovering and tracking changes to Chainlink Price Feeds.

Leveraging the ENS protocol, Chainlink will be using the data.eth domain name to provide human-readable subdomains for each and every Chainlink supported Price Feed live on the Ethereum blockchain. Domains for each price feed can be easily accessed by simply appending the name of the price feed to the front of the domain, such as eth-usd.data.eth. Additional domain names include:

The usage of data.eth subdomains ensures that even if the Chainlink feeds page and documentation experience an unforeseen issue, users can still have access to the Price Feeds they need for their smart contract applications. To utilize these domain names, users can perform a simple search on the ens.domains website, use a trusted block explorer like Etherscan, or use their own Ethereum full node to query on-demand for the current addresses of a feed solely using on-chain data. Additionally, developers can utilize these domains to track upgrades to Chainlink Price Feeds, as every change to an ENS domain generates a standardized on-chain event that developers can easily find, removing the need to manually search for changes.

Smart contracts can also utilize the data.eth subdomains to ensure upgrades are seamlessly supported without any integration work from developers. The data.eth domain name and its subdomains are managed via a distributed multi-signature contract, which will continue to decentralize over time through the addition of other key ecosystem stakeholders, further ensuring the integrity of data.eth subdomains. With the support of ENS, we will continue to make it as seamless as possible for users to discover and connect to Chainlink Price Feeds in a manner that’s decentralized end-to-end.

Through this integration of ENS domains, we hope to standardize the usage of on-chain domain names to track mission-critical smart contracts such as price reference data feeds. Whether it's trickle-down cryptonomics, a rising tide lifting all boats, a newly launched proof-of-stake chain, or something else, Ethereum has been making moves too.

The price of Ethereum has increased 14% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap, to hit $1,400. That's above Ethereum's all-time high of $1,396, according to the data site.

The coin has been on a tear recently, rallying from $730 at the start of the year up to $1,270 in little over a week. Since then the coin saw a price correction to the $900 mark before pressure starting building back again.

Trading volumes have been growing rapidly. More than $37 billion in Ethereum has been traded in the last 24 hours, as traders rush to get in on the action.

The growing price has pushed Ethereum's market cap up. It now weighs in at $159 billion—that's around 23% of Bitcoin's market cap size.

The rest of the market has been performing well today, with XRP up 7%, Litecoin (LTC) up 14% and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) up 9%. Some coins have fared particularly well in the last week too, with Polkadot (DOT) up 105% in the last seven days and Chainlink (LINK) up 50%.

The growing price has, in part, pushed up the amount of value that's moved across the Ethereum blockchain per day. According to Money Movers, just shy of $20 billion is moved across the network per day. On this metric, Ethereum and Bitcoin are neck and neck.

DeFi price oracles aren’t the only area of expansion for Chainlink, however, as they were recently integrated with VR content ecosystem Dvision Network.

Dvision Network’s initial integration with Chainlink revolves around using these Price Feeds as the primary oracle solution in the NFT marketplace.

It will be used to calculate the exact gas fees incurred when creating NFTs, ensuring users have access to accurate, up-to-date data on the true costs of using the network.

Dvision Network CEO Jung Hyun Eom commented on the integration saying that,

“By using Chainlink to access reliable price feeds and determine the distribution of random NFT rewards, Dvision users have assurances that the digital goods created by their gameplay will be based on provably fair systems, as well as be exchangeable on the open market for fair-market values and governed by economic models that are permanent and stable.”

The team at Santiment shared their observations of ChainLink investors through the following statement.

To summarize technical analysis, ChainLink’s short-term fate – like most altcoins – is heavily tied to Bitcoin. If the King of Crypto moves strongly in either direction, Chainlink will be affected in a negative direction. Hence, the wait and see approach is recommended for Chainlink speculators at least until the Bitcoin futures and options expire later this week.

began to rally yet again and a 105% hike between October and November re-opened fresh bullish prospects. Sadly, due to its strong de-correlation with Bitcoin, it did not attain new heights in December.

However, it might not be all lost for the asset, as it remains fairly in bullish territory, unlike other major altcoins.

While being one of the poster assets for DeFi universe, Chainlink’s recent lack of price growth could be traced to the stagnancy of DeFi. Bitcoin has absorbed all the market attention over the past few weeks, and DeFi interest has expectedly gone down.

The amount of LINK sitting on exchanges is currently down to 6.67% after registering its largest outflow in 6 weeks. This is also the lowest amount sitting on exchanges since its ICO back in May 2017. Such a trend is an extremely bullish sign considering moving LINK tokens off-exchange means that holders were not looking to sell their allocations.

Additionally, number of active addresses had also registered a change in the past 24-hours.

According to glassnode, the number of LINK addresses was significantly up over the past day, suggesting that its market remains active in terms of transactions. Overall, red flags were not evident in Chainlink’s current market but a particular asset management firm is currently of a different opinion.

XRP’s reputation and value are possibly damaged beyond repair at the moment after the SEC decided to take action against ripple. XRP dropped more than 30% over the past couple of days, and Zeus Capital believes Chainlink’s number will be next in the list of victims.

Zeus Capital has been a consistent critic of Chainlink and Sergey Nazarov and suggested that Nazarov is the direct beneficiary of the Flash Loan phenomenon in DeFi.

Calling Chainlink and Nazarov ‘outright frauds’, if any of these allegations catch any kind of momentum, things may turn extremely sour for Chainlink as well.

XRP’s fate is undecided yet, and only time will tell if Chainlink has to face the same fire, or not.

This can be called an altcoin season. 

When altcoins grow faster than BTC (or at least follow its growth), we are not in a Bitcoin bull run only, but also in an altcoin season. An altcoin season can be created due to different reasons, including BTC investors moving their funds to altcoins or retail investors searching for higher returns. 

Chainlink (LINK) is one of the altcoins with the largest potential to continue moving higher in the coming months. The main question remains whether Chainlink will be able to outperform Ethereum in the first altcoin season in 2021. 

Chainlink is one of the most innovative blockchain and cryptocurrency networks in the market. Chainlink works as a decentralized oracle network that offers tamper-proof and reliable inputs and outputs related to complex smart contracts on blockchain networks. 

By using decentralized and trusted nodes, it is possible to provide highly accurate data or APIs to smart contracts. Blockchain networks cannot get the necessary information from the outside to execute smart contracts. This is why Chainlink is so important. 

Using a flexible framework, Chainlink collects and retrieves data from APIs. This information is then connected with blockchain systems in the market and helps smart contracts execute with high accuracy. 

The LINK cryptocurrency is used to pay for the different services offered by the Chainlink network. As Ethereum works with Ether (ETH), Chainlink uses LINK. Most platforms in the market have their own digital asset. In recent years, LINK became one of the most useful and popular virtual currencies in the world. 

Chainlink aims at solving a wide range of issues faced by blockchain networks. First of all, Chainlink allows smart contract networks to receive information from outside sources. This increases the number of use cases of different distributed ledger networks. While before they were only able to rely on a few datasets, with Chainlink the opportunities are much larger. 

Secondly, by using Chainlink’s decentralized oracles, blockchain networks can solve reliability issues offered by using centralized solutions. Blockchain networks then use the information provided by the oracles and automatically execute the smart contracts. 

Thirdly, blockchain networks were much simpler in the past. They were only able to rely on a few efficient and secure data points. With Chainlink’s oracles, the opportunities for smart contracts are much larger. 

Smart contracts can receive very complex and valuable data to be executed. Once they get the information they will be able to automatically execute. Developers have now the possibility to create new smart contracts connected to Chainlink Oracles. 

If we talk about investments, LINK could be a great cryptocurrency to help investors add more value to their portfolios. Thus, Chainlink helps the problem of diversification for some investors that want to add more risk to their investments. 

Smart contracts are agreements created through coding that get automatically executed once certain conditions are met. These conditions must be accurate. If a smart contract follows misleading data, it could end up triggering a set of other smart contracts and harming users. 

The smart contracts on the Ethereum network are deployed using the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The EVM allows developers to run their smart contracts on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Once the smart contracts are deployed they can start gathering information from outside sources using blockchain oracles. 

Let’s use a clear example. A company has deployed a set of smart contracts on top of the Ethereum network. They rely on outside information to verify external events. For example, they may need data about prices, shipping information, or the temperature of an object. 

By using reliable channels, Chainlink provides smart contracts with the necessary information they need in order to be executed. In this way, they receive secure and accurate data. 

Chainlink could be a great investment to those that want to diversify their portfolios in the cryptocurrency market. If you are an investor that has Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin, you could expand your portfolio and add LINK to it.

Ethereum is currently the second-largest blockchain network in the world. With a more mature market and new companies deploying their solutions on it, Chainlink will certainly become a key player offering accurate and reliable smart contracts. In addition to it, having a digital asset that has a lot of upsize potential is essential if you consider to invest in Chainlink. 

Chainlink all-time high was registered a few months ago in August 2020. The virtual currency surged to almost $20 per coin. A few years ago, Chainlink was traded below $1. 2019 was a very positive year for the virtual currency. Chainlink surpassed $3.6 per coin and the bull market continued until now. 

In BTC terms, LINK has also been growing over the last years. However, in recent months, BTC outperformed LINK. The future is open and LINK could surpass its previous all-time high close to $20. 

Especially in an altcoin season, the virtual currency could move higher and outperform other coins. Nevertheless, we are not sure what can happen to it or to the entire cryptocurrency market. 

Virtual currencies are very volatile and tend to experience times in which their value moves downwards for long periods of time. This is what happened to Bitcoin between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2019. If you invest in LINK you should take that into consideration. 

breaking out of a rising wedge pattern. On the 13th of January, the LINK price observed a continuous uptrend and hit the ceiling near the $16 level before coming to a rest.

After Bitcoin’s price correction towards the $30000 mark, the cryptocurrency market observed a significant price decline. As at the 13th of January, the king of cryptocurrency has been soaring upwards on the charts where it returned above the $37000 level. Chainlink followed Bitcoin BTC‘s uptrend and it has reached above the $16 mark on the 14th of January.

At the time of writing, the price for the cryptocurrency was observed at the $15.65 mark. The highest price that the altcoin observed during the day was $16.35, whereas the lowest price was the $15.31 level. The price had come to a rest above the $15.5 level, where it suffered mild fluctuations.

The technicals show that out of 24 indicators, 10 stand neutral while 14 suggest a buying market for the cryptocurrency. Across the oscillators, two had a buy indication and nine were neutral. We observed 12 of these technicals showing off a buy signal for the moving averages while one stood neutral.

On the 4h time frame, we can see the upper Bollinger band being tested by the LINK price line. This means that the price will see bullish movements in the short term.

Analyst Alien Algorithms believes the cryptocurrency’s trajectory tests the upper boundary of an ascending wedge pattern. Per the Chainlink price prediction, the price will move long towards the $40 mark after a breakout.

The chart shows that the cryptocurrency has been ascending inside this wedge pattern since 2018, and the cryptocurrency has tested the upper boundary at multiple instances. The price trajectory suggested by the crypto analyst in this Chainlink price prediction shows that the cryptocurrency will see a breakout soon and rise across the $40 mark. The breakout is expected to follow a retracement and another increase in price before a dump below the wedge pattern. Per the analyst, this price crash for LINK/USD could lead the trajectory below the $1 level over more than a year.

Analyst Tangerine Trader highlighted a rising triangle pattern on the LINK/USD charts. Per the analyst’s Chainlink price prediction, the cryptocurrency will hit the bottom of the triangle soon and then possibly see an upward move. As the trajectory progresses through the triangle, the trading volume and volatility will decrease until the cryptocurrency sees a major breakout towards the upside in the long term. Currently, the price is supported by the 12-day and 26-day Exponential Moving Averages. A breakout towards the upside from this point should allow the price to rise above the $23 to $33 range. The key resistance lies right below the all-time high of Chainlink.

In the last 24 hours, the decentralized oracle network token set a new price record of $23.68, and as of press time, it was trading for $21.73. This indicates a seven percent increase for the token daily. According to Coindesk data, the previous high was reached in August, and it traded for $19.90.

The crypto asset value has continued to increase since the year began continuing its performance of over 500% rise. Mostly, the oracle acts as a link between smart crypto contracts and off-chain data feeds.

Other altcoins like Bitcoin Cash, ETH, and LiteCoin have gained between two to eight percent in the last 24 hours. 

The leading crypto asset, Bitcoin, gained close to five percent within the same period, and it is trading for around $36,900. The coin price has been moving between $30k to $40k in the previous week. This period of price consolidation has given room for investments in other crypto assets.

Altcoins have been on a strong rally since Polkadot blockchain’s DOT token rose to the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. This prompted the CEO of Equilibrium, Alex Melikhov, to say that other altcoins have also been working in tandem with the rise of Polkadot.

Lark Davis also went on to posit that Bitcoin could continue hovering between its current state while other Altcoins would have the opportunity to “pop hard.”

LINK might also be able to capitalize on the boost through its budding switch to proof-of-stake. This means that users would be able to pledge the asset for a considerable period in return for rewards.

LINK rising on the charts by over 18 percent in the last 7 days alone. With a trading price of over $18 at press time, it is only natural to wonder whether this bullish momentum can help LINK register a new ATH on the charts.

Bitcoin has dominated the 2021 news cycle thanks to its ability to go past previously established ATHs almost every other week. Such momentum was also present in LINK’s price action over the past few weeks, a sharp turnaround from the situation it found itself in during the middle of 2020.

After having established an all-time high of $20.7 on 17 August, LINK was unable to sustain that position. In the coming month (i.e. Sept 2020), LINK lost over 65 percent of its value in relation to its ATH. The crypto has since been on a recovery run. Given the fact that over the past few days, LINK’s price has not seen any corrections on the charts and has been able to sustain a steady uptrend, the likelihood of LINK touching a new ATH has only emerged stronger.

Taking a look at data published by Santiment further strengthens the optimism. As per the data provided – Holders Distribution for Chainlink highlights how the coin has the strong backing of large whale addresses. Entities holding over 100k LINK are not selling the coin and are maintaining their bags. Taking a look at mid-tier addresses with 100-100k LINK, Santiment highlighted that this demographic has also seen substantial growth. This, to a large extent, highlights how LINK isn’t really prone to a sudden price drop following a sudden sell-off in the larger market.

This can be a huge advantage as the coin tries to breach the resistance level between the key $18-$19 levels. Many of the market’s altcoins, as expected, tend to move in sync with Bitcoin due to their high correlation.

For LINK, such has been the case on many occasions as well. However, if one were to take a look a the larger picture, Chainlink’s price has become less correlated with BTC’s over the course of the past year. In fact, according to data provided by CoinMetrics, BTC-LINK correlation fell from a high of 0.70 in May 2020 to 0.50, at press time.

Apart from a solid bull run on the charts, Chainlink has also had a few interesting developments in the recent past. Yesterday, it was announced that Paxos was partnering with Chainlink and PAX and PAXG are now available on Chainlink’s oracle network. Followed by this announcement, the coin’s price noted a hike of over 13 percent in 24 hours.

Given the fact that LINK has managed to sustain its price close to the $18-level for a majority of 2021, and in light of the steady stream of developments going on for LINK, a new ATH above $20 seems to be purely a matter of time.

One of the biggest problems in the Blockchain is how to transfer and communicate information from one node to another. Generally, this type of task is accomplished by Oracle. However, Oracles are considered to be centralized. Oracles are meant to initiate smart contracts. This is the week spot where centralized Oracle puts the whole Blockchain at risk.

On the other hand data entry is a crucial part of Blockchain creation. As we all know that Blockchain is unchangeable and inflexible. So if any information a Blockchain receives is incorrect, it becomes very hard to erase and rectify that information from Blockchain.

This happens in most Blockchains. In the crypto community this issue is tagged I Oracle Problem. This is where chainlink comes in handy. By integrating next-generation protocols, is how chainlink happens to tackle these issues.

The network was recognized by World Economic Forum and was bannered under the 100 most promising technology pioneers of 2020. Chainlink integrated with more than 300 projects in 2020. By securing billions in its value and reinforcing its security and audit, chainlink was the most statistical currency in 2020. Currently, chainlink (LINK) is trading with a value of $14.19 with 17.51% down in the last 24 hours.

The future price of LINK will remain constant throughout 2021, according to the Trading Beasts Chainlink price prediction. Chainlink is expected to sell in the range of $13-$18, in 2021. In the years to come, Chainlink will continue to expand and will not be under $20. In the future by 2023, Chainlink could hit $27 according to Trading Beasts.

The price of the LINK will rise in the years to come, according to CoinSwitch.  Chainlink also met its $14 price estimate in 2020 and even that it met the targeted price of chainlink of $13 that was predicted a year ago for the year 2025. Chainlink has for long been untethered to Bitcoin’s performance and this was reflected in its unmoved price as well. LINK’s price has been consolidating between $11.40 and $11.84 over the past couple of days and at press time, while LINK was trading at $11.34, the selling pressure was notably increasing too.

Such selling pressure could be a result of the digital asset’s price consolidating on the charts. Although LINK has managed to return 486% in year-to-date, its exchange inflows have increased too. According to data provider Santiment, Chainlink yesterday saw its largest exchange inflows spike for the year 2020.

A rise in inflows is usually a sign of traders’ panic in the market, and given the inactivity of certain alts like LINK in the face of Bitcoin’s hyperactivity, this is understandable. While many were able to sell the digital asset at a peak, the altcoin’s dropping price has only fueled this selling even more.

While Bitcoin may be peaking right now, a fall such as this will push the remaining alts further down the price charts. The rise in selling pressure could be an indication of a fearful market and traders wanting to realize their profits before a drop.

This trend shows few signs of letting up anytime soon, as most major altcoins are all stagnating as BTC continues showing signs of strength.

Until BTC enters a prolonged consolidation phase or slides lower, there’s a strong possibility that it will continue gaining dominance over the market.

Despite this short-term trend being bearish for altcoins like Chainlink, data does seem to suggest that the cryptocurrency is as fundamentally healthy as it has ever been.

According to one analytics platform, Chainlink could be well-positioned to see some massive upside due to an ongoing accumulation trend amongst smaller network participants.

They also note that while its price has gravely underperformed BTC and other altcoins like Ethereum, its largest whales are still holding strong, with there being “no apparent whale sell-offs in sight.”

This could mean that once there is a rotation of capital away from Bitcoin and towards altcoins, LINK will lead the charge and see some massive upside.

Altcoins have extended their consolidation trends despite the recent strength seen by Bitcoin and even Ethereum.

Chainlink is a prime example of this, as the cryptocurrency has been trading sideways around its current price of $11.25. This is around where it has been trading throughout the past week.

It appears to be facing some resistance within the upper-$11.00 region, as this is where it found some massive resistance that slowed its ascent and caused it to slide back to its $11.00 support region.

Despite Chainlink’s lackluster price action as of late, the cryptocurrency’s whales are holding strong and are showing no signs of folding anytime soon.

Furthermore, an analytics firm recently noted that the number of new addresses holding and buying LINK has spiked as of late.

The coming days should shed some light on how Bitcoin’s price action will influence Chainlink and other altcoins.

While Bitcoin BTC made a descending move towards the $30000 mark on the 11th of January, the altcoin market followed suit and the crypto assets saw price corrections as well. On the 12th of January, the cryptocurrencies have seen some price recovery alongside Bitcoin. Chainlink is one of such altcoins, and the LINKUSD pair has been trading above $13.5 through most of the day. The cryptocurrency’s highest price was $15.46, whereas the price stooped to a day’s low of $13.73 on the charts.

The technicals for the trading pair lean towards a buyers’ position for the cryptocurrency. 3 out of the eleven oscillators indicate a bullish signal, while 8 stand neutral. 7 out of thirteen moving averages are in favor of a buy signal, 1 is neutral and 5 are for a sell signal. Overall, the crypto asset’s market is still relatively bullish on the daily.

On the 4h time frame, the lower Bollinger band is acting as the support with the midline as the resistance. The price was recently rejected by the midline and it has currently formed an upward candle. If the price slips above the midline, the $18.36 mark will be the next target, which is where the upper Bollinger band lies. The bands currently depict moderate expansion.

Trading View analyst Significant Ant drew a Gartley bullish for the LINKUSD pair. The support lies closer to the $13 mark, while the Chainlink price prediction shows a target price of $15.67.

This is a retracement and continuation harmonic pattern, and it is also a bullish indicator. Per the analyst’s Chainlink price prediction, the cryptocurrency rose across the $14 mark, while the target price lies at $15.67 in the short-term. Crucial support for the cryptocurrency is marked near the $11.4 to $11.6 range.

Analyst Sawyer highlights long-term ascending support for the weekly charts for the LINK/USD pair. The analyst discussed that the crypto asset got close to its all-time high, but it failed to break towards the upside. The price observed a large price correction near $18.5 and dropped to the $13 mark while it sits above the 21-Week Moving Average.

This might mean that the cryptocurrency is looking to continue upward, as seen in other bullish markets. If the cryptocurrency breaks above its all-time high anytime soon, the analyst expects the price to go parabolic after entering a discovery phase.
